Nikoli Luzhin (Viggo Mortensen) works as a driver for one of London's most feared Easter European crime organizations, and prides himself on his loyalty to the Vory family. However, when a midwife at a local hospital (Naomi Watts) stumbles across a diary in the belongings of a young mother who died in her care. Written in Russian, what it contains unleashes the anger of the Vory, who will do anything to ensure that the details within are not revealed. For Nikoli, this will become the test of his loyalty, and to where it lies- the family who treated him like a son, or the innocent woman caught up in a spiral of deceit and murder.
